What Do You Wish for with Those Murky Eyes? - The Hyselk Chronicles

Takakura Raizo, a salaryman who died of a myocardial infarction on his way to work, is reborn as the third son of a farming family in another world. Given the name Warm, he lives a peaceful life, but his homeland, which continues to clash with surrounding countries, continues to conscript soldiers as national spearheads, and Warm is no exception. His life is bought by the state for the price of a preparation fee, and the conscripted Warm is thrown into the front lines. Unjust deaths that come equally to all, the plunder and humiliation that mix joy and screams, the stench of death that clouds his eyes—he is inevitably dyed with the madness of the battlefield, and Warm blossoms with a fighting talent that he would never have awakened in peacetime. He spends his days deceiving himself with alcohol and soldier's cigarettes, squeezing out his exhausted and emaciated spirit, diluting his morality and conscience, which have become dregs, with a little hypocrisy. The war has entered its final stages in the Hyselk Empire, but turmoil that will shake the entire empire is about to occur.
