Chapter 8

However, at that time, I still didn't know.

The innate skill I possessed, 'Storage,' was actually something that had never existed before. It was the ultimate version of the Storage skill, 'Infinite Storage.'

Normally, the capacity of the 'Storage' skill is only about the size of one or two wagons, no matter how large it is...

But in my case, it was infinite.

In other words, I could store as much as I wanted.

And it was the best skill for a merchant.

With infinite capacity, I could conduct large-scale trade at the cost of moving just my body.

Normally, you would have to hire many people with the 'Storage' skill or gather a large number of wagons to form a large caravan, and invest a huge amount of money, people, and labor to transport goods on a super-scale level.

But with me, everything could be completed by just moving myself.

However...

It would be a very, very long time before my 'Infinite Storage' would be filled with a large amount of supplies again, after I had disgorged all the heroes' collections.

Therefore, it would be a very, very long time before I realized this.

The story from here on out is set in a world of swords, magic, and skills.

It is a story about me, who has zero combat ability, using my 'Storage' skill, which I thought was just a bit larger than others, to conduct business in a somewhat shrewd and steady manner, and slowly accumulate money in a rather dull way.

Aim for becoming a great merchant!

"From what I remember... this Yack village is famous for cultivating medicinal herbs..."

As I walked, I muttered to myself.

Perhaps I could buy medicinal herbs at a low price. And if I took them to the adventurer's guild in the neighboring town, I might be able to sell them at a slightly higher price to adventurers who are about to set out.

Buy low.

Sell high.

This is the basic principle of business.

If I buy 30,000 mana worth of medicinal herbs and sell them for 20% more at 36,000 mana, the difference of 6,000 mana would be mine.

The 50,000 mana given to me by Ryan would be depleted in about half a year if I lived a normal life.

"I need to start earning a stable income for living expenses..."

If I had confidence in my abilities, I could take on monster hunting jobs at the adventurer's guild...

Unfortunately, that's not an option for me.

I gave up on that path 15 years ago.

Because I am weak.

And (by the story's setup) I have no plans to become strong!

But even so, I need to earn money.

To live.

And someday, to become wealthy and marry a wife!

And so...

I took the first step towards becoming a great merchant (or so I hoped).
