Edgar's Turn.
Chapter 41
The capital city at noon.
At Alex's shop 'Puchi Eri,' Edgar was asked to investigate a wealthy person or noble who had purchased a large number of unconditional slaves.
Edgar casually accepted and left the shop. (1 second)
As he entered the alley next to the shop, Edgar thought for a moment.
--If someone is buying a large number of unconditional slaves, the slave trader must have a list of buyers. If they're wealthy, they probably pay on credit.
"Wind Escape -- Leaf Concealment Technique" (3 seconds)
Edgar activated the technique to become invisible and moved swiftly across the rooftops.
He arrived at the slave trader's place. (5 seconds)
Entering through a second-story window.
Activating the thief skill [Treasure Detection].
In the slave trader's room, he found the customer and purchase lists. (8 seconds)
Looking through the list, he discovered that Lord Thomson had made a large purchase.
He also saw the address written down.
It was impossible for someone to lead a large number of slaves home. They must have asked the slave trader to deliver them.
That's why the address of the Thomson residence was right below the purchase record. (9 seconds)
He then looked at another document that the [Treasure Detection] had picked up. (11 seconds)
It was a report on Lord Thomson's activities.
He skimmed through it, but since the investigation had failed, he only memorized the details. (15 seconds)
Then, from the slave trader's window, he spotted the Thomson residence. (16 seconds)
"Wind Escape -- Wind Travel Technique"
He arrived on the roof of the Thomson residence. (17 seconds, followed by 5 seconds of stiffness)
He then entered the house and began searching, naturally using his thief skills. (24 seconds)
He immediately searched Lord Thomson's private room. (27 seconds)
Using [Treasure Detection], he found a list of people to whom slaves had been gifted, from the desk drawers and document cabinets. (30 seconds)
He then used his thief skills to open the safe. (35 seconds)
Searching inside, he found evidence of heinous acts. (40 seconds)
It seemed that Lord Thomson was sending slaves and items to collaborators to make them accomplices.
He considered whether to copy the documents or not. (43 seconds)
However, the evidence was 100% proof of guilt.
He decided to take the original documents instead of copies, as the evidence would be weaker if the originals were destroyed. (45 seconds)
He quickly tidied up. (47 seconds)
He looked for Alex's shop from the window and found it. (49 seconds)
"Wind Escape -- Wind Travel Technique"
He flew to near the shop using the technique. (50 seconds, followed by 4 seconds of stiffness)
He canceled the Leaf Concealment Technique.
He opened the door with a creak and entered the shop. (57 seconds)
Alex asked curiously,
"Hmm, what's up? Did you forget something?"
"No, I already investigated it --"

Chapter 53
One day,
Edgar was asked by Alex to investigate something again.
"Souls are likely to have slipped into the Demon World or the Illusionary World. If there are records of past heroes, we can investigate them." "Also, check if the Philosopher's Stone is in the Demon King's castle."
He casually accepted and left the shop. (1 second)
"The records of heroes are in the castle or the church -- Wind Escape, Leaf Concealment Technique"
Edgar's figure disappeared.
He then looked at the tall castle in the northern part of the capital.
"Wind Escape, Wind Travel Technique"
Edgar's figure disappeared. (4 seconds)
Edgar appeared on the castle's balcony. (5 seconds, followed by 4 seconds of stiffness)
He went to the castle's hero-related archives. (15 seconds)
He activated the thief skill [Treasure Detection].
He picked up the glowing documents and flipped through them.
He found a map. (20 seconds)
--Hmm, this is a map of the Demon World. It doesn't seem to be complete... Ah, the Philosopher's Stone is here.
He looked at another document. (25 seconds)
--The map of the Illusionary World is almost perfect. It doesn't seem to show anything... With this, we might not need to go to the church. We can go if necessary.
Edgar laid out the maps and documents on the floor. (30 seconds)
He then brought a blank sheet of paper.
He took out a scroll from his pocket. (35 seconds)
"Then, let's copy them -- Ninja Technique, Print Transfer Technique"
He stretched out the scroll and placed it over the maps and documents on the floor.
He rubbed the scroll and then peeled it off.
The text and images from the maps and documents were transferred in reverse to the scroll. (40 seconds)
This time, he placed the blank paper on the scroll and rubbed it.
The original maps and documents were quickly transferred to the paper. (45 seconds)
He put the scroll back in his pocket and the paper in his pocket. (50 seconds)
He put the maps and documents back in their original places. (55 seconds)
He left the room and went to the balcony. (65 seconds)
He looked for Alex's shop. (66 seconds)
"Wind Escape -- Wind Travel Technique"
He flew to near Alex's shop. (67 seconds, followed by 4 seconds of stiffness)
He canceled the Leaf Concealment Technique and opened the shop door. (73 seconds)
Edgar entered the shop, approached the counter, and handed the paper to Alex. (75 seconds)
"Here are the documents you asked for."
"Thank you."

After Chapter 65
The capital city before dawn.
The eastern sky was faintly illuminated.
Edgar left a house on the outskirts of the capital, carrying the still sleeping princess on his back.
The princess, Nobara, was wearing a red kimono with a chanchanko over it and a headscarf.
As Edgar quietly closed the door and began walking silently, the princess mumbled softly,
"Didn't you say goodbye to the children? Azuma."
"Ah, you're awake. Good morning, Princess."
"Good morning... fafu."
The princess yawned softly.
Edgar laughed, shaking his messy hair.
"It's fine. I'll be back soon. --Please sleep until dawn, Princess."
"Mm, I understand."
Nobara leaned against Edgar's back and rested her chin on his shoulder.
Edgar smiled gently, with a hint of sadness, and looked up.
He gazed at the mountain peaks that were turning red in the early morning light, ahead of the city.
"Wind Escape -- Wind Travel Technique"
With a whoosh, Edgar's figure disappeared.
He then appeared near the summit of the mountain range.
The vast land was visible, stretching far into the distance.
Deserts, grasslands, forests, and great rivers. Small villages and towns dotted the landscape.
Everything was about to awaken.
The red sun began to rise from the clouds in the east.
At first, it was a small, dark red point, gradually growing to the size of a bead, then a soccer ball.
Nobara, on Edgar's back, let out a small exclamation.
"Oh... the dawn of the continent."
"Grand, isn't it?"
"Watching the sunrise from the mountain is beautiful...," she said, her face flushed with the morning light, but her voice had a hint of sadness.
Edgar firmly readjusted the princess on his back.
"It's cold up here. We'll be going to the summit many times, so please make sure your clothes and headscarf are secure."
"Yes, I will."
"Then, let's go, Princess."
"Understood."
Nobara wrapped her small hands around Edgar and stifled a yawn.
Edgar looked into the distant horizon and whispered.
"Wind Escape -- Wind Travel Technique"
And once again, Edgar's figure disappeared.
