Afterword

Hello everyone, Ebisu Seiji here. Thankyou very much for picking up volume 8.5 of ‘Ore Ga Suki Nano WaImouto Dakedo Imouto Janai’.

As you might have guessed, this novelis a collection of short stories that didn’t make it into the mainseries. Just like with volume 7.5, these were short stories releasedin the Dragon Magazine, and now properly gathered here, but they areslightly different from before. In 7.5, these short stories ended upstill as a connected story.

On the other hand, this 8.5 volume ismade up of short side stories which were released in Dragon Magazineafter the release of volume 1. I felt a strong sense of nostalgiawhile reading through these stories again, and at the same time Ifelt gratitude for all the people who’ve helped me make it thisfar.

And to go into a bit more detail aboutthese short stories, they are mostly made up of short events thatdidn’t make it into the main series, and naturally quite a few morelovey-dovey events. Although they’re not all that different fromthe main series, I do feel like they show a slightly different sideof Yuu, Suzuka, Double Peace-sensei, and the others.

This volume also has some new shortstories that weren’t released before in the Dragon Magazine, so I’msure that both new readers and older readers will enjoy this volume.Naturally, I want to thank my illustrator Gintarou-sensei for all thecute, supreme illustrations he has blessed us with this time around.

On another note, I want to say that Idid not expect that I would write another short story volume likethis. I was really surprised when the publisher called me to say’We’re releasing 8.5′, so much so that I asked them ‘Are youserious?’ out of surprise.

That being said, the fact that we couldrelease this volume shows that the support for the main series isstill going strong, and it fills me with nothing but joy. In order torespond to this wonderful support, I will work even harder from nowon.

At this point, I also want to apologizeto the publisher for the long break in volumes, but I can guaranteethat it will all be worth it for the 9th installment that will becoming soon.
